is a learning collaboratorium designed to serve the needs of the K-12 community and to advance the science literacy of the general public. We do this by creating hands-on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities.

Main Street Science is an organization whose unique structure helps to provide a focus for engaging the community, federal and state agencies, and philanthropic organizations all of whom help support its mission. The physical space and the organization of this learning collaboratorium have been designed to foster the interactions between scientists, engineers, teachers and K-12 students. Integral to the learning collaboratorium is a resident staff skilled in design and fabrication and the facilities to effectively create the components for hands-on learning activities. The products of our work are distributed both locally to schools and through partnerships with state and national teacher associations.
